SPRING
According to Ayurveda this is Kapha Season

Spring is wet outside and the body will have more mucus, more weight or water weight outside the cell rather than inside. The diet should consist of food and drinks that are hot, dry, and light in quality to counter the cool, moist, and heavy qualities of Kapha. Have dry, warming, pungent, astringent, and bitter tasting foods and spices to reduce Kapha.

Drink dandelion root tea to help the kidneys flush out extra fluid. Interestingly, dandelions predominantly grow in the springtime – nature is so intelligent! Also drink ginger, calamus, clove, cinnamon teas and warm water with lemon.

Eat more baked, broiled or grilled warm foods. Avoid cheeses, ice creams, and yogurts (all dairy). Eat more vegetables. Avoid sweets, salty and sour tastes – this aggravates Kapha so please limit them. Do spring cleansing of your body, mind and heart as you do of your house. You’re moving into a new season.
